Introducing
18 Wheels of Justice, a crushing thrash metal band from the
hotbed music scene of Boston, Massachusetts. Their sound is
a new brand of raw thrashcore, yet the influence of early metal
and thrash can be clearly heard. 18 Wheels has just completed
their debut full-length album, entitled 'Deceive Them All',
available July '07. The album was recorded, mixed, and produced
entirely by the band, and is being released and distributed
by the independent label Elephantine Records.
Founding
members Todd Harris (guitar) and Conor Anastasia (bass) started
18 Wheels of Justice as a side project in early 2002. Realizing
the huge potential of their music, the project quickly became
their primary focus. The band was in a state of flux from '02
to '04, as the search for the perfect lineup continued. The
additions of vocalist Steve Justice, guitarist Steve Abajoli,
and drummer Sam Pothier completed the punishing sound.
The
group has played extensively throughout the New England region,
developing a strong following. In early '05, they recorded a
self-titled EP at The Armory Studios (owned by Harris), which
got airplay on several local radio stations (107.3WAAF, 104.1
WBCN). The sound was described as "powerful and elemental"
(The Noise), and greatly increased the band's exposure.
Throughout '06, the band maintained a rigorous schedule, both
on stage and in the studio. The resulting debut album, 'Deceive
Them All', captures the fierce, determined sound that is 18
Wheels of Justice.
2007
has seen the band play numerous Metal festivals, including BRUTALFEST(Worcester
MA), THE HAMMERBALL (Naragansett RI), and a series of shows
in the EMERGENZA BATTLE OF THE BANDS, where the band made it
to round 3 of the competiton, and were labeled as the best Metal
band in the Battle.
